As it turns out . . .

That last post about the rock--well, turns out it was put there by the 7-yr-old who has been missing the nuts.
It has been a long, long time since a nut showed up.  As I recall the summer was slow last year, but I'm wondering if my nutter has moved on to better mailboxes.
We'll see if things perk up once the school year begins.  In any case, I will keep my eyes open for those nuts.

It's a rock!

(Said in Elmo's voice talking to Zoe about her pet Rocco)

It has been ages since I've seen a nut in the mailbox. But today there was a rock!  Will have to ask the 7-yr old who has been bringing in the mail what he knows.

March

I was out of town for a long weekend in AZ to celebrate my Mom's upcoming 75th birthday. It was a fun girl's weekend.

I returned on a red-eye and arrived Monday morning, took a short nap then headed off to work. My husband found a nut in the mailbox on Monday. Not having his phone on him he left it there for me. Since I didn't know about it until later that night I didn't get out there. Then the storm hit on Tuesday, and I stayed indoors.

So here I am on Wednesday documenting a nut that was dropped off in my mailbox sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon.

Second nut of 2017.

First nut of the New Year

Nobody checked the mail yesterday. This morning when I opened the mailbox on the walk back from the middle school bus I found the mail and the first nut of 2017.

First blogiversary

No nut today.

Let's look over the past year.
A total of 17 nuts found over 366 days (2016 was a leap year).
October, November, and December had the most nuts, with 4 nuts each month. No nuts at all were left May through September.
Most nuts were found on a Monday. A total of six nuts were found on a Monday with 3 nuts each found on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm still waiting for the first nut of 2017.
